The international chain of ice cream stores was founded in 1983 in Houston, Texas, and originally called Cones & Cream. The brand became a franchise the next year and today has locations all throughout North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Marble Slab is known for using a frozen granite slab to mix the ice cream with its toppings and also sells shakes, sundaes, cakes and cookies.

Marble Slab is owned by FAT Brands, which also owns Great American Cookies, Hot Dog on a Stick, Pretzelmaker and Round Table Pizza.
